I believe the KF guns have receivers machined from steel billets cut from bar stock instead of a forged and machined one like the 1969 model. I fell in love with the DLXR long before, and chose to stick with the first gal I brung to the dance. I test shot the KF gun with a few hunting loads but never hunted with it or shot it much beyond the initial testing and a round or two of low gun skeet. Both shuck as slick and easy as any 37 I've ever shot and point well too. I'd not refuse either for the small difference in weight. It weighs just a tad more than the 1969 model, but balance and handling are good with either. When you call be sure to let your sales rep know if you are a left or right handed shooter so we can engrave in the proper location on the butt stock based on your shooting style so you don't cheek weld up to the engraving on the butt stock when you shoulder the firearm.I've owned both a 1969 'Hammer Forged' 28' DLXR VR model and a King's Ferry 26' VR model w/ the DLXR style forend and choke tubes.
